Last week in NYC, I captured this shot primarily because I loved the colors. Holiday greens in front of a traditional brownstone with a red post and green stenciled message: Protect Your Magic. What does it mean?
“Protect your Magic” is a movement started a few years ago by Fadia Kader, a marketing strategist who heads up brand marketing at Def Jam records.

“Ultimately, no matter where you are in your life, you have a power that is only yours.” We all have some magic to offer: strength, knowledge, peace.
Protecting it is doing whatever you need to maintain that balance, maybe it’s yoga, running or just spending time with people who bring out the best in you. What a great message and an even better way to start off the new year!
Part of my magic has always been about creating: paintings, drawings, and photographs. It’s how I connect with ideas and people.
Perhaps it’s a perfect time of year for all of us to discover our own magic.
